COMMISSIONS

Depending on my schedule I will sometimes take on commissions. In most cases I don’t take on a commission unless I can deliver it within a reasonable amount of time–no more than a year from when the first deposit clears. It hopefully a lot less. My background in commercial art and hitting deadlines is something that I still believe engenders trust with all my clients.

Other Works

There again, I may sometimes post art that is not yet in a gallery that I will offer through my website here. Please feel free to reach out under the INFO tab to discuss which piece you have an interest in. In some cases I may be able to produce a similar “feel” of a piece that has in some cases already sold, which would of course follow the same procedure as all other commissions.

Pricing

The price of my work depends on many factors, here are a few that come to mind:

  • Size
  • Time
  • Materials
  • Complexity
  • Framing options (if desired)
  • Shipping

Process

  1. Decide which pieces you like. Among the pieces already on my site pick the ones that resonate with you the most. You can use screen grabs or titles to communicate this.
  2. Describe the elements that appeal to you. Next if you can describe in a few words what about the piece or pieces that you like that you’re hoping to have created for you. Likewise, tell me what you’re not interested in if something stands out. This will create a framework for me to work up some ideas.
  3. Determine size and budget. Again, using some of the samples on the site determine what size you’d like the painted image area to be. Do you want a vertical format, square format, or horizontal format. If there is a budget you’d like to stay within I can sometimes tell you what you can expect for the money.
  4. Request a sketch and pay deposit. To start the process and get on my schedule 1/3rd of the payment is required for me to start on a series of sketches. I usually do between 1-3. I’ll send those to you with the idea that you may have one round of input. I’ll then require another 1/3rd of the payment for me to start your commission fully. The remaining 1/3rd will be due upon shipping. As you’ll note, you only get one round of input in the sketch phase. This is to keep everyone above board and to keep me free to do my job. If any drastic changes by no fault of my own are requested that may incur further costs.
  5. Shipping. I usually ship most paintings larger than a USPS Priority Box in large cardboard bike boxes using FEDEX GROUND which contain tracking information and insurance.
